Tooling Development

Tooling in 30–45 days. You own it, and we never make your design for a competitor.

Upsilon develops plastic and metal tooling for telescoping products, from design through production, in 30–45 days, and the tooling you pay for is 100% yours. Often you need less tooling than you think: tubes come in 100+ stock sizes, and many common parts are ready-made.

Do You Need Tooling?Choosing an Alloy

Tooling is an investment. First, see which parts of your product do not need it.

No tooling

Tubes

100+ stock sizes cover most telescoping uses and go straight to production with zero tooling cost.

Usually no tooling

Common parts

We invest in development every year and keep a large range of ready-made plastic and metal parts: clips, locking parts, screws, soft and hard grips.

Tooling needed

Your own designed parts

Such as a signature clamp head, mount or grip shape. These parts define how your product looks, and they deserve their own tooling.

Tooling ProcessChoosing an Alloy

Confirm the direction first, then cut tooling, so nothing is wasted.

01

Test the telescoping part

Build it with stock tubes and ready-made parts to confirm feel and structure.

02

3D-print to check the look

To check the look and overall fit first, we 3D-print the parts and fit them, in about 5–7 days.

Optional

03

 Approve the sample

We cut tooling only after you confirm the direction.

04

Cut the tooling

Tooling takes 30–45 days.

05

Assemble, test, ship samples

New parts are fitted to the tubes and the complete pole is sent to you for testing and inspection.

Two Things That Matter MostChoosing an Alloy

Your tooling, your property

Tooling you pay for is 100% yours and can be transferred whenever you ask. During production we store and maintain it, so reorders go straight to production with no new tooling. All of this is written into the agreement.

Never made for a competitor

Your dedicated tooling is never used for anyone else, and your design never appears in another brand’s product. We protect your intellectual property strictly.

Typical tooling life is 100,000 shots or more, depending on the tooling type. For high-volume products, we review the tooling specification with you before cutting.
